Tear Down Those Doors: 4 Reasons PVC Strip Curtains Enhance Your Warehouse

Hello, my name is Malcolm and this is my new blog. My friends thought that I was insane when I told them I was going to start a manufacturing blog. However, I'm not insane. I am just massively inspired by a trip I made to my father-in-law's factory. I married into an industrial and manufacturing family who run a number of different plants across the country. When I was brought into the family fold I decided to find out about the industry. It was a fascinating experience and I am really pleased to have had it. I hope you like my blog.

Tear Down Those Doors: 4 Reasons PVC Strip Curtains Enhance Your Warehouse

Spring is just around the corner, and the spring cleaning chore list applies to both residential homes and commercial warehouses. With the temperature warming up, it is an ideal time to clean up the inside and outside of your business. This year, you want to do a few renovations to your warehouse to make it more user-friendly. One area, in particular, which may be annoying you is the interior metal doors. If you are looking for alternatives, here are four reasons why PVC strip curtains are a better choice for the interior of your commercial building.

Durability

One of the frustrating things about metal doors is how quickly they look shabby and worn. When employees are moving through the warehouse in a hurry on their forklifts, it doesn't take much to slide into and dent a metal door accidentally. While the door is still functional despite the damage, it does need to be replaced eventually once it no longer seals properly within its frame.

A PVC strip curtain, by comparison, is a fluid, flexible sheet which easily moves if it comes into contact with equipment. There is no equivalent amount of damage seen after an impact.

Visibility

An increase in visibility happens after a PVC curtain installation because your employees can see better what is on the other side of it without opening the door. This reduces the chance of accidents occurring if an employee is rushing through the door without checking who or what is on the other side.

Productivity

Being able to drive through a PVC strip curtain without having to turn off the forklift, dismount, open and close the door is a big time saver to an employee's day. The time spent to perform the opening and closing of a door while sitting on a forklift is 1-2 minutes. If the employee does not have to stop, this extra time is better spent in other areas.

Sensitivity

Finally, summer is on its way, and unlike metal doors, PVC strip curtains do not absorb heat. The lack of heat in the curtain means there is less chance of your employees searing their skin on a hot metal door. It also means the warehouse stays cooler as the metal door is not radiating extra heat during the day.

PVC strip curtains are available to fit any size door opening. Call a local PVC door manufacturer to discuss how quickly these can be made and fit at your commercial premises.
