Choosing the right company for your industrial drilling project

Hello, my name is Malcolm and this is my new blog. My friends thought that I was insane when I told them I was going to start a manufacturing blog. However, I'm not insane. I am just massively inspired by a trip I made to my father-in-law's factory. I married into an industrial and manufacturing family who run a number of different plants across the country. When I was brought into the family fold I decided to find out about the industry. It was a fascinating experience and I am really pleased to have had it. I hope you like my blog.

Choosing the right company for your industrial drilling project

Everyone knows that there are times when drilling can be challenging. Sometimes the challenges arise because you are working in areas with only limited access, and sometimes it is the nature of the soil or rock conditions that present the challenges. Every situation is different and you are are going to employ a company for a drilling project, whether it is basement drilling or general industrial drilling you must have full confidence in their abilities.

The best way to ensure you are working with the right drilling company is to talk to them about every aspect of the project and ensure that your expectations are aligned. If you need an industrial drilling company to work in a challenging location then you need to be sure that they understand what is required of them and that they have the right equipment and skills to conduct the drilling to the required standard.

What experience do they have?

To ensure the success of your drilling project you should look for a company that understands the challenges of drilling in complicated locations, and has developed techniques for dealing with these challenges in real-life situations. Your chosen company should have experience of drilling in all rock conditions and soil types. They should know the complexities of basement drilling and the best way to approach each situation, to ensure the project can be brought to a successful conclusion.

What equipment will they use?

The choice of drilling equipment will depend on the nature of the project, and where the drilling is taking place. Do you need bored piers, soldier piers, retainer walls, or something else? Depending on your situation the drilling company could suggest using excavator mounted drills or perhaps a specialised drill rig for particularly rocky or deep conditions. You will also need to consider how deep you will need to drill, and ensure that the available equipment is capable of penetrating to that depth. Assessing the capabilities of the company before you start working with them, and ensure they understand the scope of the project should ensure that the right equipment is available when it is needed.

Do they meet industry standards?

Industrial drilling is a potentially dangerous operation, you can't afford to take unnecessary risks. If you are hiring a basement drilling company, or someone to do any other form of industrial drilling you must be sure that the company meets all the relevant safety standards, and has the appropriate licenses for all the work that will be undertaken and the equipment that will be used. This should be common sense, but it is still your responsibility to ensure that the paperwork is in order before the company starts work.

By asking the right questions you can ensure that the company you hire is the right one to take on your project, and bring it to a successful conclusion.
