Refrigerators

Hello, my name is Malcolm and this is my new blog. My friends thought that I was insane when I told them I was going to start a manufacturing blog. However, I'm not insane. I am just massively inspired by a trip I made to my father-in-law's factory. I married into an industrial and manufacturing family who run a number of different plants across the country. When I was brought into the family fold I decided to find out about the industry. It was a fascinating experience and I am really pleased to have had it. I hope you like my blog.

The variety of refrigerators available today in the market has made it quite a difficult task deciding what refrigerator to go for. Nowadays, you have to look just beyond keeping your food cooled and consider many more factors while getting yourself a fridge.

What to consider in choosing a refrigerator

Capacity

It is important to look at the size of your family when you are out to buy a refrigerator for home use. The bigger your family, the bigger the capacity of the fridge you have to buy.

Size

This has to do with the amount of floor space available in your kitchen or wherever you are going to store your refrigerator. If your space is too small, you can consider choosing a smaller fridge so that it fits in the space available.

Lifestyle

Choose a refrigerator that suits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that fridges with larger capacity tend to use up more energy, which translates to higher electric bills. Different types of fridges have different prices and also different features. It is, therefore, important to consider budget and a type that will accommodate your lifestyle when making a decision.

Types of refrigerator

French door refrigerator

These fridges have their freezers located underneath the fridge and two doors opening in opposite directions. This kind of fridge is the most popular today, perhaps because it's probably the most spacious type of fridge in the market right now.

Side by side refrigerator

These kinds have the fridge and freezer lying side by side. They also come with an ice dispenser. They require more floor space as both its doors will need space to open.

Bottom mount refrigerator

This is where the freezer is below the fridge. It is ideal for elderly people as well as people with back problem, as everything can easily be reached without having to bend.

Top mount refrigerator

This is where the freezer is on top. It is, in fact, the most common type of refrigerator in many households. It is the easiest to maintain and offers more freezer space. It also has a lot more shelves, thus offering more capacity in terms of storage space. It also uses less more power than any kind of fridge.

Most homeowners keep their refrigerator for years without having to replace it. it is important to make sure you choose a fridge whose quality is going to give you service for a long time as well as work in line with a reasonable budget.
